An all-in-one diaper or AIO, is the absolute easiest diaper to use. No folding, stuffing, or covers are required. An AIO has a waterproof outer cover and a sewn-in absorbent inner. They usually have a stay dry layer that sits against baby’s skin. All of this is sewn together in one piece. The diaper goes on and off just like a disposable. Most AIO’s are sized (i.e.: small, med, large), but there are a few “one size” AIO`s out there which will “grow” with your baby via adjustments to the rise snaps on the front. Many parents choose to have at least a couple of all-in-ones in their diaper stash for convenience when away from home. What do you need at each diaper change?
How many will you need?
How much will it cost? These are definitely not the cheapest option. Based on buying 16 diapers, you will pay $20.00-29.00 each for all-in-ones, with the more expensive ones being the one-size variety. Using a sized system, you are looking at least $320 to start out with AIO’s and approximately $960-1390 before your baby is out of diapers. Using a one-size system, the initial cost is higher, but the savings pile up over time. You would pay approximately $425 for 16 organic, one-size AIO’s. Many parents choose to buy just a few AIO’s to have for times when convenience is a priority, but use other systems while they are at home. |
